The route that I usually use when test driving cars is located on the east coast of South Africa, in the province of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The route starts in Umhlanga Ridge, near the Gateway Theater of Shopping, most of the car dealerships are located around Gateway. We have an option of taking 2 highways, either the N2 or the M4. The N2 is just off the coastline and the M4 runs parallel to the beach.
If I want to really open car up I go all the way up to Umdloti, but I would normally take the Sibaya Casino offramp and then wind down back to the M4 and head back to Gateway via La-Lucia.
The route tests highway and urban driving so I really get a feel of the car I'm testing, plus it's a real pleasure to take in the views of the Indian Ocean. If I go up the M4 then the route is vice versa.
